How to Use JobCoach

This guide walks you through the entire card sorting process — from your first card to the final AI coaching report. It only takes a few minutes to read and will make your session much smoother.

Overview

JobCoach helps you discover your career profile through four card decks:

  1. Occupational Interests — 60 cards about different professions
  2. Career Values — 45 cards about what drives you
  3. Motivated Skills — 48 cards about skills that energize you
  4. Work Environment — 35 cards about your ideal workplace

For each deck, you go through three phases: Sort, Rank, and Reflect. After all four decks, you get a summary and an AI coaching report.

How to Think About Sorting

This is not about what is realistic or practical right now. It is about what genuinely interests and appeals to you. Sort based on how the card makes you feel, not on whether it seems achievable.

For example, if "Doctor" sounds fascinating to you, mark it as interesting — even if you are 50 and have no medical degree. The point is to discover your underlying interests, values, and motivations. The AI coaching report will look at the full picture and find the patterns that matter.

There are no right or wrong answers. Go with your gut feeling and be honest with yourself.

Phase 1

Sorting Cards

Step 1: Click the deck

When you start, you see a card deck in the center of the screen with four empty piles below it. Click on the deck to flip over the top card.

Step 2: Read and sort the card

The card flips up showing a title and description. Read it, then click one of the four buttons at the bottom to place it in a pile:

  • Not Interesting — not relevant to you
  • Somewhat Interesting — maybe, you are not sure
  • Interesting — this appeals to you
  • Very Interesting — this really resonates with you

Step 3: Change your mind

Sorted a card into the wrong pile? No problem. Click on any pile to see its top card, then sort it into a different pile. You can review and re-sort cards at any time during the sorting phase.

Step 4: Finish sorting

Once all cards are sorted, a "Done Sorting" button appears. Click it to move to the ranking phase.

Step 1: Read the card

Cards are shown one at a time in a large card view. Each card has a title and a short description. The counter at the top shows how many cards are left to sort.

Step 2: Sort into a pile

You have two ways to sort each card:

  • Tap a pile button — tap one of the four colored buttons at the bottom
  • Swipe — swipe left for "Not Interesting" or swipe right for "Very Interesting"

The four piles are:

  • Not Interesting — not relevant to you
  • Somewhat — maybe, you are not sure
  • Interesting — this appeals to you
  • Very Interesting — this really resonates with you

Each button shows a count of how many cards are in that pile.

Step 3: Change your mind

Tap the undo button to move the last card back. You can also long-press on any pile button to review all cards in that pile and reassign them to a different pile using the dropdown.

Step 4: Finish sorting

Once all cards are sorted, a "Done Sorting" button appears. Tap it to move to the ranking phase.

Phase 2

Ranking Your Top Choices

After sorting all cards, your "Very Interesting" cards are shown in a list. Drag them to reorder — #1 should be your absolute top choice.

After sorting all cards, your "Very Interesting" cards are shown in a list. Swipe cards up or down to reorder them — #1 should be your absolute top choice.

If you did not mark any cards as "Very Interesting", this phase is skipped and the deck is complete.

When you are happy with the order, click "Confirm Ranking".

Phase 3

Writing Your Motivations

For each of your ranked cards, you are asked: "Why is this important to you?" Write a few words or sentences. This is where the real insight happens — your motivations help the AI generate a much better coaching report.

Use the Previous and Next buttons to navigate between cards. Your text is saved automatically.

Four Decks, Then Results

After completing all three phases for a deck, you automatically move to the next deck. After the first deck, you can optionally save your email for token recovery.

After all four decks are complete, you reach the results page where you see a summary of your top choices across all dimensions, and can generate a personalized AI coaching report.
